Nebraska BC/BS-Edit for Patient ID Numbers

Effective September 26, 2009 all BCBS claims must be submitted with the patient’s external ID number found on their active ID card. Any claims submitted electronically with a Social Security number for the ID will be rejected with the following error message:

Subscriber Number Not On Membership File

Invalid or expired ID prefixes will also cause a rejection.

No action required by provider.
