CAHABA Government Benefit Administrators,® LLC currently has three Multi-Carrier System (MCS) claims processing environments, which were inherited when they transitioned to the Jurisdiction 10 A/B Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC). The three regions or segments are:
- Alabama
- Georgia
- Tennessee
The purpose of this merge is to unify all of the Part B claims processing functions into a single claims processing environment. This includes all data values and files, such as procedure code files and claims history. The merger will result in significant administrative savings while having virtually no impact upon beneficiaries or providers following the merge.
Starting on Saturday, 07/31/2010, the Part B Jurisdiction 10 Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) workload will be transitioned to a consolidated Multi-Carrier System (MCS) claims processing environment. To ensure the successful transition of these workloads, CMS has approved one system dark day for this transition. CAHABA GBA has received CMS approval for a “dark day” on Monday, 08/02/2010 to implement the merge. The “dark day” will affect all Part B J10 MAC providers.
“Dark Day” is defined as a day in which Medicare online systems will not be available for either external or internal use.
During the system dark day there will be no access to the following resources:
- Electronic Remittance Advice
- Provider Contact Center
- Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system
NOTE: Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) will not be available on Monday, 08/02/2010 as they will not have access to the Medicare claims processing system. In addition, you will not be able to access information using the CAHABA GBA IVR system on 08/02/2010. CAHABA fully expects the system to be available again on Tuesday, 08/03/2010 at 8:00 a.m. Eastern Time (ET).
