On 7/19/2010, Infinedi began pre-pending "INF" to the beginning of all trace numbers to further simplify reports and ERA distribution to the claim level in VIC.
When searching VIC using the trace number:
· If searching for a claim submitted on 7/19/2010 or after, then the "INF" must be included in the trace number field, example trace number INF123456789.
· If searching for a claim submitted prior to 7/19/2010, then the claim would not include the “INF” in the trace number field, example trace number 123456789.
· If searching for a claim that was resubmitted either from your practice management software or edited online after 7/19/2010, the original and the resubmitted claim will have different trace numbers. The original submitted claim will have a trace number without the “INF” and the resubmitted claim will have the “INF” included in the trace number.
