The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently awarded new banking contracts to U.S. Bank and JP Morgan Chase for both Part A and Part B providers. No provider action is needed at this time; however providers should be aware that the Medicare payments may be made by a different bank than in the past because of these new banking contractors.
The following Medicare claims processing contractors will remain with JP Morgan Chase:
o Cahaba Government Benefit Administrators
o Pinnacle Business Solutions
o First Coast Service Options
o Palmetto GBA (except for A/B MAC Jurisdiction 1)
o Wisconsin Physician Service
Providers that bill to these contractors will not experience any change.
The following Medicare claims processing contractors will transition to JP Morgan Chase on 06/01/2010:
o Palmetto A/B MAC Jurisdiction 1
o Trailblazer
The following contractors will transition to U.S. Bank on 06/01/2010:
o CIGNA Government Services
o Highmark Medicare Services
o National Government Services
o NHIC
o Noridian Administrative Services.
